SEBAGO HARPSWELL SHIRT
A great choice for being outdoors when the heat arrives, this short-sleeved shirt is the ideal style element for an "easy" summer. With a regular fit, it is made of light cotton with a Madras pattern and features a camp collar and a front chest pocket with a personalized Sebago Campsides label. Harpswell is a coastal city in Maine (USA) with over 200 islands stretching from the coast out to sea, a gem of a location for sports and outdoor activities all year round, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The name Madras derives from Madraspatnam, the site chosen by the British East India Company for a permanent settlement in 1639. To ensure a reliable supply of manpower, the Company promised a 30-year exemption from duties for Indian weavers in the area, and within a year almost 400 families of weavers had already settled in Madras. Famous in Europe for its lightness and breathability from the very beginning, undyed Madras evolved into classic and beautiful plaid patterns during the 17th century, became the traditional dress of Madras residents and conquered the world. To this day, Madras fabric needs to be dyed just like it was on day one: by hand while still in yarn form.
